Modam connects artists and collectors. Sellers arrange physical shipment directly; Modam does not operate a warehouse or courier service. This policy sets the shipping expectations for users.
1. Seller Responsibilities
- Ship promptly: Sellers must ship the artwork within 5 business days of payment confirmation, unless explicitly agreed otherwise with the buyer through Modam chat.
- Pack securely: Sellers are responsible for protecting the artwork from transit damage.
- Provide Tracking: Sellers must enter the carrier name and tracking number into the Modam app upon shipping. Without tracking, buyers cannot verify delivery and seller payouts may be delayed.
- Shipping cost: The cost of shipping is borne by the seller unless explicitly separated at checkout. Sellers should factor shipping expenses into their item price.
2. Buyer Responsibilities
- Accurate Details: Buyers must provide full, accurate shipping addresses.
- Receiving Goods: Buyers must be available to receive the package or collect it from the carrier as indicated by tracking.
- Duties & Customs: For international shipments, customs and import duties are solely the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise required by law.
3. International Shipping & Customs
Shipments crossing international borders may be subject to customs inspections, causing delays outside the seller's control. If a package is rejected by customs or abandoned because a buyer refuses to pay import duties, the buyer may lose their right to a refund. Any return shipping or storage costs arising from a customs refusal may be deducted from the buyer's refund.
4. Lost or Damaged Shipments
Modam is not liable for carrier loss or damage. However, if a package is lost in transit or arrives physically damaged due to poor packaging, the buyer should open a dispute under the Refund Policy. Sellers are highly encouraged to purchase their own carrier shipping insurance, as it does not affect Modam's dispute resolution.
